The near-southeast side of Indianapolis is a densely-populated, historic cluster of neighborhoods, which have housed a mix of residences, commercial establishments, and manufacturers since the 1880s. This cluster of communities covers approximately five square miles and includes hundreds of churches, a rich mix of community organizations, many homes, and thriving businesses.

The area is immediately bounded by the downtown regional center to the northwest, East Washington Street on the north, Sherman and Keystone on the east, Raymond Street on the south, and Madison Avenue on the west. The area is trisected by I-65 and I-70, giving it easy access to the entire Indianapolis region. Click here for a map of the SEND area.
